Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni

Background

Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni is a Welsh & English bilingual school with a population of 810 pupils, serving the centre of Anglesey. The “local community” comprises of the town of Llangefni and the surrounding rural areas. The school have 48 full time teachers, and 18 support staff.

The Chalange

The client, Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni, was looking for a modular seating range to make the best use of available space in their 6th Form Common Room. They required the seats to fill both corner and straight wall sections and provide a continuous run to fill the room. The School also needed the colour scheme to be bright, contemporary, and upbeat to inspire the minds of the students who will be using the area.

The Solution

Ministry of Furniture worked together with the School to develop a seating solution using the Elements Range of modular seating. Available in a wide range of colours, the School were able to select a two-tone colour scheme that would brighten the 6th Form Common Room. The modular design of the range allowed the seats to fit exactly into the room and take full advantage of the available space. The hardwearing fabric recommended by Ministry offers a durable solution that will give years of usage against the day to day rigours of the School environment, whilst also meeting the school’s public building flammability regulatory requirements. Ministry also provided robust occasional tables that complement the seats and offer a functional solution.

The Benefits

The deep padded Elements modular seating supplied and installed can comfortably seat 26 students in the main seating area with a further 4 ample seats by the pool table. All this whilst enhancing the overall aesthetics of the room. The range selected can also be added to at a later date with different modules to adapt or extend the seating runs to accommodate additional students or change the layout of the room.
