Case Study

Swansea City AFC – Fairwood Training Centre

Background

Ministry of Furniture worked with Swansea City AFC to design and furnish an inspirational social and working space for players, coaches, directors and staff. Swansea City AFC are a top flight professional football club with an incredible history like no other. The Furniture and Fittings in the new training facility at Fairwood combines functionality with great design.

The Challenge

Within the constraints of budget and schedule, create an inspiring environment for players, staff and club management that is in sympathy with the new modern building and its rural surroundings. At the same time reflect the club’s elite standing, echoing it’s core identity and proud achievements.

The Solution

Working with the clubs construction and project team, Ministry proposed a mixture of social space furniture at split levels to encourage sit / stand activity. Modern, clean lined Beam Desking was chosen to populate IT areas, with a selection of soft and landscape seating offering areas to kick back and think. Ministry’s design team undertook all layout drawings and sampling throughout the design development process - a key and necessary part of project visualisation.

The Benefits

Swansea City’s Project Manager, Rhidian Stevens said “We’ve worked with Ministry of Furniture on a number of projects now. The expertise of their people and the resources they provided such as computer aided design and mood boards really benefited what can sometimes be a complex decision making process. Their showroom, close to the M4 in Neath Port Talbot is a must visit - it makes product visualisation far easier”
